I am blessed to have a group of amazing women, who I affectionately call the “Sistas”, join me in an effort to develop a healthier lifestyle. All of us are concerned about losing weight but are convinced that we can only achieve life long results by focusing on the small choices we make every day. It’s all part of our endeavor to stop the “all or nothing at all” cycle that sabotages our self esteem and polarizes our efforts. This meal incorporates Sista Karen’s eating plan which requires her to couple protein and healthy carbs together in meals and snacks. It must be working….she lost 50lbs last year without counting calories or “die”ting. I’ve followed this plan for two weeks and already feel lighter. It’s really simple…if I eat an apple, I also eat a handful of almonds. If I eat a salad I top it with cheese or chicken….well, you get the general idea. How easy is that? Following this plan, I’m cooking up some great snack ideas which I’ll include in another blog. They’re healthy and I promise that they will definitely contain the “YUM” factor.
